Ocean Shores, nation's first tsunami ready community...

On June 30, 2001, the city of Ocean Shores was recognized as our nation's first "TsunamiReady" community during the city's annual Sand Festival. Officials from the National Weather Service (NWS) and its parent agency, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) celebrated this event with local city and county officials,and citizens.
