CHIEF METEOROLOGIST

The Chief Meteorologist is responsible for coordinating weather-related activities throughout the Department and serving as USDA's liaison on weather matters to other Federal agencies, international bodies, and scientific organizations. Through the Chief Meteorologist, the Board plays an active role in developing greater cooperation among Federal, State, and private agricultural weather services and participates in the scientific debate on global climate change.
