Notice of Arrangements for Diplomatic Security Special Agent Ed Seitz

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 27, 2004


Friends may pay their respects on Friday, October 29, from 2:00–9:00 P.M. at the Nosek and Sons Funeral Home, 8150 Brecksville Road, Brecksville, Ohio, 44141.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 30, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Basil the Great Roman Catholic Church, 8700 Brecksville Road, Brecksville, Ohio, 44141.

State Department Director General of the Foreign Service W. Robert Pearson, Assistant Secretary of State for Diplomatic Security Francis X. Taylor, Diplomatic Security Service Director Joe Morton, and Diplomatic Security special agents from U.S. Embassy in Baghdad and the Diplomatic Security Chicago Field Office will represent the State Department at the funeral in Ohio.

There will be a memorial service in the Washington, DC, Metropolitan Area at a future date. The State Department will announce the details of that service when arrangements are finalized. Attendance at this local service may be the best venue for the hundreds of Ed’s friends, colleagues, and admirers in the Washington, DC, area to demonstrate their respect and support.

The Seitz family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Edward J. Seitz Memorial Fund, c/o Charter One Bank, 8471 Chippewa Road, Brecksville, OH 44141. The fund will provide academic scholarships to children of law enforcement officers and assist families of officers killed in the line of duty.
