August 16: Morning thunderstorms bring street flooding to Las
Cruces and Truth or Consequences. Later in the day, afternoon showers
and thunderstorms move across Hudspeth County with street flooding
reported between Sierra Blanca and Dell City. |
September 9: Cool morning with El Paso tying a record low temperature by falling to 55 degrees. September 13: Hot day across the deserts with El Paso tying a record high temperature by reaching 97 degrees. September 24: Severe thunderstorms produce hail almost an inch in diameter in the Silver City area. Other storms drop a swath of small hail across Interstate 25 in the Truth or Consequences vicinity with numerous accidents occurring due to the icy road conditions. September 25: Heavy rains flood homes in Tornillo with a number of people forced to evacuate. Floodwaters are 5 feet deep in some locations. |
