Bird 20001
Leg band: 08
BBL band: 718-32436
Sex: Male
Subspecies: Grus canadensis canadensis
Capture date: March 26, 1998
Capture location: Carlson Brothers farm, 9.6km southwest of Overton, NE
Crane 2001 was last located on 22 June 1998. From the ancillary sensor data transmitted during each location, it appears that the transmitter was relatively stationary since 29 May. These data also indicate that the transmitter was functioning properly up to the time of the last location. Given this evidence and the low probability of the transmitter falling off, we assume that this crane has died and the transmitter is situated such that its signal cannot be received by the orbiting satellites.
