Edwin Piņero, Federal Environmental Executive, travels to Lititz, Pennsylvania
Edwin Piņero, Federal Environmental Executive, traveled to Lititz, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to recognize and congratulate Pfizer Pharmaceuticals and Lititz Borough on the dedication of the New Street Ecological Park. This project included both a stream restoration effort aimed at reducing nutrient and sediment loading to the Chesapeake Bay, as well as a pilot project for a nutrient credit trading model. Although a local effort, it attracted the attention and recognition of the Federal government because it exemplifies an excellent example of private-public collaboration at the local level to solve national environmental issues.

The DLA and GSA sign a Memorandum of Understanding
The Defense Logistics Agency and General Services Administration signed a Memorandum of Understanding on October 19, 2004 at the Battle Creek, Michigan Federal Center where they commit to piloting an integrated EMS between the two agencies. Federal agencies have been concerned about the process of developing EMSs where they are tenants in GSA locations. Through this pilot, the agencies will not only develop a pilot test for such EMS integration, but have committed to working together with OFEE to share their experiences and products with the rest of the Federal community. Co-signing along with DLA and GSA leadership was Edwin Pinero, Federal Environmental Executive.
