Grid Point Forecast
A grid point, or point-and-click forecast is a forecast for a specific location (point) within
a grid map. The grid map scale we are currently using is a
5km square area. When you move the arrow and click, all individual weather
element forecasts (i.e. temp, weather, wind) near the tip of the arrow are
generated and a textual representation of those elements
is constructed.
In addition to the grid-based text forecast, both meteograms and digital
tabular forecast can be displayed. Instructions
for accessing these forecasts are here...
For an in-depth explanation of the National Digital Forecast Database
(NDFD), which the Grid Point Forecast is a part of, you can start

Zone Forecast
A zone forecast is a forecast for an entire county.
When the forecast is generated for the zone(county), an
average of all the individual weather elements is used to construct a
textual representation. Here is how to retrieve your zone average forecast.
