(12/14/1999) New storm data files are available.. The storm data files for the months of July, August, and September, 1999 have been added to the Storm Data page.

(12/13/1999) The Top 10 Oklahoma Weather Events for the 20th Century Are Announced. A list of the top 10 Oklahoma eather events for the 20th century (which officially nds on December 31, 2000) has been released. The list was produced by the the Oklahoma Climatological Survey, and the NWS offices in Norman and Tulsa. For more information, please refer to the news release issued on December 13, 1999.

(12/10/1999) Web Page for the December 4-5, 1999 snowstorm is now available. A preliminary web page for the December 4-5, 1999 snowstorm in northwest Oklahoma is now available. More information will be added in the near future.

(12/07/1999) Commerce Department Awards Gold Medal to National Weather Service Norman Forecast Office. The U.S. Department of Commerce has awarded its Gold Medal to the staff of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Weather Service Norman Forecast Office for "exemplary, life-saving performance during the devastating May 3, 1999 tornadoes." (11/09/1999) National Weather Service / Amateur Radio Special Event. National Weather Service / Amateur Radio Special Event The National Weather Service is sponsoring an amateur radio special event on November 27, 1999. More information is available here.

(10/21/1999) Frost and Freeze Data for Oklahoma and Texas is now available. Frost and Freeze Data for Oklahoma and Texas is now available from the Climate Data web page. This page includes links to frost/freeze maps from the Oklahoma Climatological Survey and the Southern Region Climate Center. Historical information for the first and last freezes of each year at the Oklahoma City climate site can also be found through this web page. The frost/freeze web page is available at:

(8/25/1999) 1999 is a record-breaking year for tornadoes in the state of Oklahoma. Text from a recent press release on the record-breaking 1999 Oklahoma tornado season is now available at: here. (8/18/1999) HAMS Present Award to NWS Norman MIC Dennis McCarthy. Dennis McCarthy, meteorologist in charge of the National Weather Service Norman Forecast Office, was presented a Certificate of Merit by the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) recently to recognize his ongoing work with amateur radio operations in Oklahoma and his contribution to saving lives and property during the tornado outbreak May 3.
