Innovative Administration Systems for Vaccines

Purpose: This Conference will be a forum for the academic, clinical and industry communities and for the federal government agencies to discuss the latest scientific and clinical developments in innovative administration systems for vaccines. These discussions will facilitate the development of vaccine delivery systems relative to the storage, deployment and rapid implementation of mass vaccination programs.

Program: National experts will present the science and current development status of the various innovative administrative methods and techniques for vaccines. Sessions will include: Jet injectors, Transdermal (microneedles, patches), and Transmucosal ( oral, nasal, aerosol). A detailed agenda will be announced once it has been finalized.

Partners: This conference is coordinated by the Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Assistant Secretary for Public Health Emergency Preparedness and cosponsored by the Assistant Secretary Health (National Vaccine Program Office), Center for Disease Control (National Immunization Program), Federal Drug Administration (Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, Center for Devices and Radiological Health), National Institutes of Health (National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases) and the Strategic National Stockpile.

Location: The DoubleTree Hotel and Executive Meeting Center, Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD is located adjacent to the Twinbrook Metro Station on the Metro Red Line. A limited number of rooms at conference rates will be available at the DoubleTree Hotel.

Registration: Pre-registration is encouraged and opens on October 22, 2003; the pre-registration deadline is November 26, 2003.
