Fourth Annual Federal Aviation Awards Presented in September 2004
GSA presented the fourth annual Federal Aviation Awards on September 28, 2004, at a ceremony held in Washington, DC. Federal agencies nominated 14 programs and professionals for these awards, which covered accomplishments in calendar year 2003.

The Aviation Division, Drug Enforcement Administration, Department of Justice, Fort Worth, TX, won the Large Aviation Program Award, and the Aviation Operations Division of the Department of Energy's Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC, won the Small Aviation Program Award (for the second year in a row).

In addition, Paul O'Sullivan, Chief of the Aircraft Operations Division, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement, Department of State, Melbourne, FL, received the Federal Aviation Professional Award (Managerial Category), while David Morton, Aviation Safety Officer, Justice Prisoner and Alien Transportation System, Department of Justice, Oklahoma City, OK, was the winner of the Federal Aviation Professional Award in the Operational Category.

Marty Wagner, GSA's Associate Administrator for Governmentwide Policy, presented the awards with assistance from the Honorable Mark V. Rosenker, Vice Chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board, who was the keynote speaker at the awards ceremony. Becky Rhodes, GSA's Deputy Associate Administrator for Transportation and Personal Property, hosted the ceremony on behalf of GSA's Aircraft Management Policy Division.

Judges for this year's Federal Aviation Awards were Roy Resavage, President, Helicopter Association International; Jack Kelly, Senior Policy Analyst, U.S. Office of Management and Budget; Robert Blouin, Senior Vice President, National Business Aviation Association; Jim Burin, Director of Technical Programs, Flight Safety Foundation; and Brian Finnegan, President of the Professional Aviation Maintenance Association.
