On September 29, the Greater Washington Region's Best Workplaces for CommutersSM Coalition announced the 2004 list of the Greater Washington Region's Best Workplaces for Commuters. Announced in conjunction with the list of the Best Workplaces for Commuters from the FORTUNE 500 Companies, the Greater Washington Region list features 187 employers that offer outstanding employer benefits to their employees.

Get on Next Year's List!

Assure your place on the 2005 list of the Greater Washington Region's Best Workplaces for Commuters by completing our online application. The sooner you apply, the sooner you will receive recognition as one of the Greater Washington Region's Best Workplaces for Commuters.

Federal Agencies—Get on the List!

More than seventy federal agency work sites are already being recognized as Best Workplaces for Commuters by offering outstanding commuter benefits to their employees. Your agency could be next as EPA and DOT invite federal agencies to qualify as Best Workplaces for Commuters. Based on the requirements of Executive Order 13150 on Federal Workforce Transportation, your agency might already qualify.

Meet the Coalition

Meet the members of the Greater Washington Region's Best Workplaces for Commuters Coalition, the group that spearheads the campaign. The coalition, led by the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, consists of leading government and business organizations in the region working to reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality, and make commuting less stressful and costly for employers and employees. Several local jurisdictions have also pledged their commitment to the campaign, including Alexandria Rideshare, Arlington Transportation Partners, Fairfax County, and Montgomery County Commuter Services.
