Personnel Announcement
President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate
two individuals to serve in his administration:
The President intends to nominate James David McGee, of Florida, to
be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of
America to the Republic of Madagascar. A career member of the Senior
Foreign Service, Ambassador McGee currently serves as Chief of Mission
to the Kingdom of Swaziland. He previously served as Counselor for
Administrative Affairs in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire. Prior to this
position, Ambassador McGee served as Counselor for Administrative
Affairs and Chief of the Administrative Section in Kingston, Jamaica.
He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Indiana.
The President intends to nominate David Michael Satterfield, of
Virginia, to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the
United States of America to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. A career
member of the Senior Foreign Service, Ambassador Satterfield currently
serves as Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Near Eastern
Affairs at the State Department. He previously served as U.S.
Ambassador to Lebanon. Earlier in his career, Ambassador Satterfield
served on the National Security Council as Director for Near Eastern
and South Asian Affairs. In addition, he also served as Director of
the State Department's Office of Israel and Arab-Israeli Affairs.
Ambassador Satterfield earned his bachelor's degree from the University
of Maryland.
