To operate, maintain, and support Oak Ridge National Laboratory's (ORNL's) High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR) for the Department of Energy (DOE) in a safe, reliable, predictable, and efficient manner and in compliance with applicable regulations and requirements.

The current Research Reactors Division at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) was established in 1987 as an organization to operate ORNL's reactors in a safe and efficient manner. The majority of the division's staff of approximately 130 is located at ORNL's 7900 site.
