Welcome to the WWS Home Page!

The National Science Foundation (NSF), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) jointly sponsor the competition to synthesize physico-chemical, biological, and social science expertise in addressing water and watershed issues. The research is to improve understanding of:
  1. natural and anthropogenic processes that govern the quantity, quality, and availability of water for natural and human-dominated systems, and

  2. the structure, function, and dynamics of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems within watersheds.
