The Finance Staff develops and promulgates policies
and standards pertaining to financial and accounting activities
of the Department and reviews their implementation; develops, maintains,
and administers the Departmental Financial Management Information
System; directs an operating accounting program which supports operational
processing of the funds flowing to, from, and within the Department;
directs automated employment system which, except for the FBI, supports
records processing for personnel functions and provides payroll
accounting services for all employees of the Department. The Finance
Staff represents the Department in its contacts with all Federal
departments and agencies regarding finance and accounting policies,
standards, systems, and activities.
