Requesting an earlier interview appointment date

Versión en español

Earlier interview appointment dates are granted under the following circumstances:

  1. Need to receive or continue urgent medical treatment in the U.S.
  2. Need to visit a very close relative who is very ill.
  3. Need to attend the funeral of a very close relative.
  4. Urgent business trips.

If your case is one of those mentioned above, or for another very good reason it is considered an emergency, you may call the Call Center. Advanced appointments are only granted for proven emergencies. Be prepared to inform the Call Center what kind of documents you will present during your interview to prove the emergency. If your advancement is granted, the Call Center will give you a new appointment date.

It is the applicant's responsibility to bring to the interview all the documents that prove the emergency. If the documents presented are false or insufficient proof of the emergency, the visa will not be approved.
