Who does not need a tourist visa?

Versión en español

Citizens of the following countries currently do not need a business/tourist visa (B-1/B-2), as long as they carry a machine readable passport and are going to remain in the U.S. for 90 days or less:

Andorra Iceland Norway
Australia Ireland Portugal
Austria Italy San Marino
Belgium Japan Singapore
Brunei Liechtenstein Slovenia
Denmark Luxembourg Spain
Finland Monaco Sweden
France the Netherlands Switzerland
Germany New Zealand United Kingdom

Whoever does not have a machine readable passport after October 26, 2004, or plans to remain in the U.S. for more than 90 days, must apply for a Non-Immigrant Visa. During the following months immigration officers may allow someone without a machine readable passport to enter the U.S. only once.

If the purpose of the trip is to study or work, the traveler must apply for the appropriate visa.
