The following information and list of physicians and dentists, known to
speak acceptable English, has been prepared by the U.S. Embassy in an
attempt to be of assistance to American citizens. The list is not
meant to be an exhaustive one, nor is it intended that inclusion in the
list be construed as U.S. endorsement or recommendation of the physicians
and dentists so included.
To assure good health and to make your visit here as rewarding as possible,
you should be aware of the existing health hazards and those facilities
which you may need to use in protecting yourself against disease. The
Seoul city water supply is chlorinated and some of the major hotels have
their own chlorination systems. Although the water is chlorinated
it is best to drink carbonated beverages, hot tea, hot coffee, beer or
wine. Eating salads and uncooked vegetables may be unsafe.
Avoid eating raw fish.
