Travel Commuted Rate Schedule

Under the commuted rate system, federal civilian employees may arrange for the shipment and storage of their household goods and apply for reimbursement of these costs from their agency. This method is available only for household goods shipments within the continental United States and does not include Hawaii or Alaska.

The Commuted Rate Schedule was revised and effective on October 1, 1998. This revision supercedes all previous versions of the Schedule and is expected to be the final revision to the Schedule. A future revision to the Schedule will not occur. Please Note Major changes in the 1998 Revision are -

  • Elimination of all tables for rates and charges.
  • Establishment of the American Moving and Storage Association's Nationwide Household Goods, Commercial Relocation Tariff, as of January 1, 2002, STB 400-N became the current Tariff.
