The Broadcast Media & Technology Center's radio news team produces over 2,000 radio news stories each year, which are accessed by radio stations daily via telephone dial-up service (202-720-6776), as well as MP3 audio files available to radio stations and the public through USDA's Home Page**. USDA's radio service includes news, feature and documentary reporting. The service is particularly important to the many radio stations in rural areas of the country that do not have a Washington correspondent. The radio service has always been well supported by broadcasters due to its well produced reports covering issues from food safety to international trade in a non partisan manner. The Radio Newsline typically has 8 to 10 items that are accessible via phone line and the Internet at 5:00PM Eastern time. There is also a weekly Feature Service, produced by USDA Radio, that includes one documentary, five consumer features and five agritape features. These are mailed on CD to 675 radio stations but can also be accessed via USDA's home page on the Internet. This service has won numerous international and national broadcasting awards.

**MP3 on USDA Web Site:
The Broadcast Media & Technology Center offers rural radio broadcasters, the nightly Radio Newsline as well as USDA Radio weekly feature service, online in MP3 format. This allows broadcasters to use the web to directly access our nightly radio feeds with CD quality.
