Mrs. BOXER (for herself and Mrs. FEINSTEIN) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources
A BILL
To adjust the boundary of the John Muir National Historic Site, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the `John Muir National Historic Site Boundary Adjustment Act'.
SEC. 2. DEFINITIONS.
(a) HISTORIC SITE- The term `Historic Site' means the John Muir National Historic Site established by the Act of August 31, 1964 (78 Stat. 753; 16 U.S.C. 461 note).
(b) MAP- The term `map' means the map entitled `Boundary Map, John Muir National Historic Site', numbered PWR-OL 426-80,044a, and dated August 2001.
(c) SECRETARY- The term `Secretary' means the Secretary of the Interior.
SEC. 3. BOUNDARY ADJUSTMENT.
(1) IN GENERAL- The Secretary may acquire the land or any interests in the land depicted as the `Boundary Adjustment Area' on the map for addition to the Historic Site.
(2) MEANS- An acquisition of land or interest in land under paragraph (1) may be made by donation, purchase from a willing seller with donated or appropriated funds, or exchange.
(b) ADJUSTMENT- The boundary of the Historic Site shall be adjusted to reflect the acquisition of land under subsection (a).
(c) Administration- The Secretary shall administer any land or interests in land acquired under subsection (b) as part of the Historic Site in accordance with any laws applicable to the Historic Site.
