Office of Inspector General Office of Administration

The Office of Administration is responsible for providing the technical, financial, and administrative infrastructure to the Office of Inspector General (OIG).  This multi-faceted organization of skilled managers, computer technicians, and office professionals offers an array of professional business services to the OIG user community.  The Office of Administration ensures a quality working environment in providing office space and state-of-the-art computer systems.  The OIG management and staff are fully supported by an exclusive in-house Human Resources activity.  Our Office coordinates and develops the presidential and congressional reporting requirements of the OIG.  The Office of Administration is proud to serve as a full partner in the OIG.

Administrative and Financial Management Services Division

The Administrative and Financial Management Services Division provides effective and efficient administrative support services and accurate financial data to the OIG.  It consists of the Budget and Financial Management Branch and the Administrative Services Branch.

The Budget and Financial Management Branch develops the OIG budget and establishes funding requirements for the OIG nationwide.  The budget supports the programs and activities of the office.  The branch reviews OIG financial and personnel resource plans, compares these plans to OIG objectives, and recommends the allocation of these resources.  Also, the branch prepares responses to GSA, Congressional, and Office of Management and Budget budgetary requirements and inquiries.  In addition, the branch monitors OIG funding to ensure maximum use of available dollars.

The Administrative Services Branch provides administrative and support activities for the OIG nationwide.  This branch provides a variety of support services including space management, document and personnel security management, and management of the acquisition and procurement of equipment, services, and supplies.

Publications and Special Projects Section 

This division coordinates the OIG-wide program to communicate OIG mission, programs, and activities within GSA and to other Federal agencies.  It prepares the Semiannual Report to the Congress and the OIG's portion of the President's Council on Integrity and Efficiency Annual Progress Report to the President.

Human Resources Division 

The Human Resources Division operates personnel programs that effectively support the accomplishments of the OIG mission while ensuring compliance with both the merit principles and personnel laws. 

The division conducts recruitments, placement activities, and promotes the effective use of personnel.  It operates the retirement programs and manages employee health and life insurance programs.  The personnel program also covers the classification of jobs, performance management, employee relations, and personnel guidance.

Information Technology Division 

The Information Technology (IT) Division offers a stable and robust computing environment to the OIG user community.  Using regional based local area networks in connection with the GSA backbone network, users access custom applications, electronic mail, and the World Wide Web.   A standard office software package is provided at the desktop workstation for the more than 280 OIG system users.   The IT Division offers computer support through the OIG Help Desk, accessed via telephone or electronic mail and on-site visits.   The highly skilled IT Division staff provides detailed support to address an array of hardware and software problems.  The IT Division leadership is committed to providing quality IT solutions to their customers nationwide.
