GSA's Office of the CFO, formed under The Chief Financial Officers (CFO) Act of 1990, is responsible for:

Financial management within the General Services Administration.

Developing overall agency policies, guidelines, and procedures for budget administration, financial reporting, and financial management systems.

Formulating policies governing how financial services are provided and managed.

Establishing and maintaining accounting principles procedures, and systems.

Developing polices and standards for cash and credit management.

Maintaining liaison with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), the Department of the Treasury, the General Accounting Office (GAO), and various Congressional committees agency financial management activities.
