ORANGECOUNTYTRANSPORTATION PROJECTS MAKE LIST FOR SIX-YEAR TRANSPORTATION FUNDING
Sanchez Requests Total More than $14 Million in Transportation Requests in TEA-LU
WASHINGTON, DC– In this week’s initial list of earmarks in the Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (TEA-LU), transportation projects in Orange County and the 47th Congressional District made the list federal transportation priorities and funding for the next six years. Congressman Loretta Sanchez helped secure more than $14 million in funding in the legislation, which was reported out of the House Transportation Committee on Mar. 24, 2004.
The following are requests included in the bill:
- $1.2 million Harbor Blvd. Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). Widen intersections and add lanes
- $7.3 million Replace SR22 Interchanges and Bridges in Garden Grove
- $500,000 Study to evaluate traffic implications resulting from the proposed re-alignment of Nutwood Avenue in Fullerton.
- $1 million Widen Harbor Blvd to 8 lanes in Anaheim Resort Area.
- $2 million Construct grade separation at State College Blvd. In Fullerton/Anaheim
- $1 million Implement Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Project in Orange County
- $1 million Purchase inter-county express buses for Orange County Transportation Authority
Other transportation requests affecting the County include:
· $14 million Construction of nine rail-highway grade separations along Alameda Corridor
