Caught Reading Just for Fun!!

  Washington, D.C. -- Today, as she does every day, Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez read something just for fun. But this time, she was "caught" -- camera. Congresswoman Sanchez, along with more than 200 of her colleagues from the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate have had their pictures taken reading a favorite book or magazine in the U.S. Capitol.

The Get Caught Reading Program is a nationwide campaign designed to put fun back into reading. Comedian Drew Carey, Spiderman, Whoopie Goldberg, Rosie O'Donnell, Jane Seymour, Derek Jeter, Robin Williams, Donald Duck and the Rugrats are just some of the celebrities who agree that reading is fun and whose photos have appeared in magazines across the country.

Said Sanchez: "If we can get people reading again just for fun, chances are they will read to their children, and we know that's the bet way to encourage children to become readers themselves. Getting our kids 'hooked' on reading is the biggest challenge we face as parents and concerned citizens."
