Principles to Make You a Better Executive The Aspen Institute Executive Seminar helps leaders define and understand basic values that are at the heart of the key problems leaders face. Leaders leave better prepared to manage relationships with diverse constituencies, conduct business in a global environment, and motivate followers through visions that unite and inspire. Fulfilling the needs of diverse constituencies requires more than knowledge of the latest management techniques. The best leaders ground their actions on a foundation of enduring ideas and uplifting values. They are sensitive to differing values and focus the energies of followers on the pursuit of common, enlightened goals. In this seminar, participants come together to learn from each other and from some of the greatest thinkers of all time. They discuss philosophers and social theorists, revolutionaries and voices of conscience, historical figures and contemporary minds. They learn how to identify what others believe and why, gaining a deeper understanding of their own values and how to communicate their goals and beliefs.
