I am particularly excited to invite you to a very special Ninth Technical Meeting of the American Commission on Organization and Administrative Systems (CAOSA), a technical working group of the Interamerican Social Security Conference. This meeting will take place in Miami, Florida from March 4-6, 2003. The United States Social Security Administration (SSA) will serve as the host organization for this event. We hope that you will join us for a lively discussion of current management challenges and successes in the Americas.
The meeting will focus on 3 major themes:
At this point, we are delighted that several outstanding presenters have accepted the invitation to join us. Dr. Carmelo Mesa-Lago, an internationally recognized expert on social security in the Americas will share his research findings on the lessons of pension reform. Mr. Alfredo Conte-Grand, Secretary of Social Security in Argentina will share his perspectives on the Social Security in his country. In addition, two long-standing friends of the CAOSA, Mrs. Antoinette Skelton, Director of the Social Security Board of the British Virgin Islands and SSA's Mr. Paul Barnes, Regional Commissioner from our Atlanta Region, will offer their personal reflections on leadership styles and results. Assistant Deputy Commissioner for Human Resources for SSA, Mrs. Felicita Sola-Carter will discuss Trends in Human Capital and Ms. Mary Ann Triggs, Acting Assistant Deputy Minister of Human Resources Development Canada, will also speak.
The meeting will take place at the Mayfair House, an all-suites hotel located in the beautiful Coconut Grove area of Miami, Florida. We were fortunate to secure very good pricing on the hotel rooms. Making hotel reservations is the responsibility of each meeting participant. Information regarding registration is provided below.
