President Bush to Nominate Three Individuals to Serve in His Administration
The President intends to nominate Hector V. Barretto to be
administrator of the Small Business Administration. He is
currently the President of Barreto Insurance and Financial Services in
Los Angeles, California, and serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board
of the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. A resident of
Glendale, California, he is a graduate of Rockhurst University.
The President intends to nominate Mel Sembler to be President of the
Export-Import Bank of the United States. He is presently the
owner and Chairman of the Board of the Sembler Company in St.
Petersburg, Florida. He has previously served as Ambassador to
Australia and Nauru under President George H. W. Bush and was named to
President Ronald Reagan's White House Conference for a Drug Free
America. Sembler is a graduate of Northwestern University in
Chicago, Illinois.
The President intends to nominate
Robert Glenn Hubbard to be a member
of the Council of Economic Advisors and upon confirmation, Hubbard will
serve as the Chairman of the Council of Economic
Advisors. He is presently the Russell Carson Professor of
Economics and Finance at Columbia University. He served as Deputy
Assistant Secretary at the Department of the Treasury from 1991-1993
where he received the Exceptional Service Award in 1992. He
is a graduate of the University of Central Florida and received his
Master's degree and Ph.D. from Harvard University.
