Release Dates:
  • Historical Monthly Data. Data will be UPDATED on or about the 11th business day of each month, with a 1.5 month lag. The last 2004 release dates are Aug 16, Sept 16, Oct 18, Nov 16 and Dec 15. The 2005 release dates are Jan 18, Feb 15, Mar 15, Apr 15, May 16, June 15, July 18, Aug 15, Sept 16, Oct 18, Nov 16 and Dec 15. The time of release is normally at 09:00 a.m. in Washington D.C.

  • Quarterly Analysis and Charts. The last 2004 release dates are August 16 and November 16. The 2005 release dates are February 15, May 16, August 15, and November 16.

  • U.S. Gross External Debt is quarterly data, reported with a one quarter lag. The 2004 and 2005 release dates are on the last business day of March, June, September, and December.

  • The benchmark and annual surveys of Cross-Border Holdings of Securities. In the past, the benchmarks were conducted every three to five years. In the future, the benchmark surveys will be conducted every five years, and for the intervening years they will be supplemented by new annual surveys. As a result, it is expected that by 2005, new data will be published annually, with a lag of approximately one-year.
