Programs & Services

SBA’s Investment Division is responsible for managing both the Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) and New Markets Venture Capital (NMVC) programs. The NMVC program is a pilot program which supplements the contribution of the much larger SBIC program in bringing investment capital to economically underserved urban and rural areas.

By “leading with economics” and maximizing profits, SBA expects the 435 funds in the SBIC program, along with six NMVC funds, to build bridges of support between private equity investors and small companies and communities across the country. For more information about these programs, please call the SBA Office of Communications and Public Liaison at (202) 205-6444.
