Licensees, and Others -- FERC-1 Data File This is an electric utility data file that includes information such as income statements, balance sheets, earnings, taxes, depreciation, amortization, and operating revenues. Data source is survey FERC-1: "Annual Report of Major Electric Utilities, Licensees, and Others." The data are compressed into a self-extracting (.exe) zip file. This self-extracting zip file expands into 1 DBF file: FORM1.DBF (or ASCII text file for years 1993 and 1994), and 2 ASCII files: CONAME.DAT which contains company names and ID numbers and KEYFM1 which contains field definitions for the record layout and database structure. To expand the file, type F1yy.EXE* (or F1FORMyy.EXE for 1993 and 1994) from a DOS window or double click on the file name from either File Manager in Windows 3x or Windows Explorer in either Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, XP, or ME. Or, click Start, then Run, then select name of .EXE file to open, then "OK." (Requires 8 megs space). *Note: Substitute the applicable year for "yy" in the file name. ** Note: Current FERC Form 1 data is available on the FERC web site at http://www.ferc.gov/docs-filing/eforms/form-1/viewer-instruct.asp for years beyond 1996 to present.
