Metro Bus and Rail Directions
Information about metro bus and rail service is accessible through the Washington Metro Area Transit Authority Web site.

From Dulles International Airport
Take the Dulles Airport Access Road to exit 9 (I-495 toward Frederick/Bethesda). Continue on I-495 toward Baltimore for about 18 miles and take exit 28B (New Hampshire Avenue/Takoma Park). At the second traffic light, turn left onto Adelphi Road. Continue on Adelphi Road through five traffic lights and turn right at the next intersection onto Toledo road. The Metro IV Building will be one block on your left.

From National Airport
Follow the signs marked "Washington" to exit the airport onto George Washington Parkway. Stay on the Parkway for about 12 miles and take the exit marked Maryland/I-495. Continue on I-495 to exit 28B and follow directions above to the Metro IV Building.

From Baltimore-Washington International Airport
Take Interstate 195 to the Baltimore Washington Parkway (Route 295) toward Washington. Take the exit marked Riverdale/Hyattsville/New Carrollton (about 20 miles). Turn right at the first traffic light (Riverdale Road/Route 410). At the 6th traffic light, turn right onto Adelphi Road. At the first intersection, turn left onto Toledo Road. The Metro IV Building will be one block on your left.

From Parklawn Building
Take Fishers Lane, turn left onto Twinbrook Parkway, turn left onto Parklawn Drive, which becomes Nicholson Lane. Turn left onto Rockville Pike and Left onto I-495 East. Take exit 28B (New Hampshire/Takoma Park) and follow the remaining directions given from Dulles International Airport.

From Humphrey Building
Go north on Third Street, turn right onto Constitution Avenue, turn left onto Louisiana Avenue, turn left onto North Capitol Street, turn right onto Michigan Avenue, which becomes Queens Chapel Road. Take Queens Chapel Road to East-West Highway. Cross East-West Highway (Route 410) and bear left onto Adelphi Road. At next intersection, turn left onto Toledo Road. The Metro IV Building will be one block on your left.

Parking
Three free 2-hour visitor parking spaces are available adjacent to the front entrance. All-day parking is still available at the pay lot at the corner of Toledo and Belcrest roads. Free all-day parking may be arranged by contacting the Office of Management (301) 458-4000. Visitors who make prior arrangements will be assigned a numbered parking space in the lot across the street from the Metro IV Building. 

Security System
The National Center for Health Statistics occupies the entire Metro IV Building. All visitors must report to the main entrance of the building, proceed through a security check, sign in with the guard, and obtain a visitors pass. The guard will contact the NCHS employee to escort the visitor to his/her destination.
