Foreign Affairs on the Internet

The Department of State Foreign Affairs Network (DOSFAN) is now on the Internet, providing global access to official U.S. foreign policy information, speeches, statements, and testimony by the President, Secretary of State, and other senior officials; plus Dispatch and Background Notes on countries and international organizations; congressional reports on trade practices; human rights, terrorism, narcotics control, and other subjects; daily briefing transcripts; directories of key officers at foreign service posts; travel information; and much more. Developed in collaboration with the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), DOSFAN is accessible on the Internet on the Department of State Website: http://www.state.gov

U.S. Missions Online.  To support its relations with other countries and international organizations, the United States maintains diplomatic and consular posts around the world. In most countries with which it has diplomatic relations, the U.S. maintains an Embassy, which usually is located in the host country capital. The U.S. also may have Consulates or Consulates General in other large commercial centers or in dependencies of the country. The U.S. missions are listed and may be accessed from http://usembassy.state.gov
