Process Heating Specialist Qualification Workshop Coming in November

October 21, 2004

The U. S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Industrial Technologies Program (ITP) offers a 2 1/2-day Process Heating Assessment and Survey Tool (PHAST) Specialist Qualification workshop, to help you gain the skills necessary to identify energy-saving opportunities in your systems. The rigorous workshop is for industry professionals with knowledge of heating systems and responsibility for such systems. Attend this training to learn:

  • How to use the DOE-developed PHAST software
  • What information sources, instruments, and measurement devices to use for data collection
  • How to evaluate a process heating system
  • How to develop a measurement plan.

Attend the upcoming PHAST Specialist Qualification workshop, which will be November 9-11, in Downey, CA. The workshop is co-sponsored with the California Energy Commission and the Southern California Gas Company.

By completing the workshop and passing a qualifying exam, you will be recognized by DOE as a Qualified PHAST Specialist, and will be listed on the BestPractices Web site. To register, contact: Larry Bennett, Phone: 562-803-7570, LBennett@semprautilities.com.

To see a listing of other workshops on industrial energy systems optimization, visit ITP's BestPractices training calendar. For more information about the Industrial Technologies Program and resources, contact the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Information Center at eereic@ee.doe.gov or 877-337-3463 (877-EERE-INF).
