U.S. Agriculture and the Free Trade Area of the Americas Mary E. Burfisher (editor) Agricultural Economic Report No. (AER827) 148 pp, March 2004 This report analyzes the potential effects of a Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) on U.S. agriculture. It describes the effects on U.S. agriculture of the trade liberalization that has already occurred in the Western Hemisphere. It explains the implications of advancing to a FTAA for U.S. agricultural trade, production, agri-environment, and foreign direct investment.
