Risk management has become a priority of U.S. agricultural policy in recent years, with crop and revenue insurance now covering about 200 million acres. ERS research on risk management policy includes studies on crop and revenue insurance issues and on the use of other tools such as futures, options, and tax-deferred savings accounts for farmers.
