American Cancer Society's Great American Smokeout (GASO)

The American Cancer Society (ACS) volunteers and staff hold the Great American Smokeout every year to help smokers quit cigarettes for at least one day, in hope they will quit forever. More people quit smoking on this day than any other day of the year. The Great American Smokeout falls, November 18, 2004, and millions of smokers are expected to quit for the day or for much longer, especially if they use modern cessation methods. The following materials are available and adapted from the American Cancer Society and previous events.
