Division of Laboratory Sciences

Welcome to the Division of Laboratory Sciences (DLS)

Mission

DLS develops and applies laboratory science to --

  • Prevent disease and death caused by exposure to toxic substances.

  • Assist disease-prevention programs requiring special laboratory expertise.

DLS develops and applies advanced laboratory technology to improve the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease resulting from exposure to toxic substances.  Other laboratory program areas include cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and newborn screening for treatable newborn diseases.

Our researchers collaborate with U.S. government agencies, state and local health departments, academic institutions, community organizations, philanthropic foundations, and international organizations.

We invite inquiries about our programs as well as suggestions for scientific collaboration that would benefit public health.
