Location: Chemicals Affecting Insect Behavior

2001 Annual Report

What was your most significant accomplishment this past year?
D. Progress Report: This report serves to document research conducted under a specific cooperative agreement between ARS and the University of Maryland. Additional details of research can be found in the report for the parent CRIS 1275-22000-155-00D: Semiochemically Mediated Enhancement of Native Beneficials and Suppression of Key Pest Insects. A patent was granted January 23, 2001, for "Aggregation pheromone for the Asian longhorned beetle, Anoplophora glabripennis (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae)" (U.S. Patent No. 6,177,073). A one-year CRADA was initiated March 15, 2001, with Trece, Inc., for "Development of Asian Longhorned Beetle Attractants" (Log No. 1275- 17-00 19679). Under the CRADA, prototype traps and lures are being designed, constructed and shipped to China for testing by a CAIBL scientist (A. Zhang) and Chinese collaborators.
