Are searches case sensitive?
No. A search for BIO or bio or Bio will produce the same results.
How do I wildcard a search?
Adding an * to the end of the search string will perform a wildcard search.
I searched for an award by program, but didn't find any results. I know this program has made awards.
Awards are tagged to a program by element codes and/or reference codes, and this can affect the results of the search.

Try entering just part of the program name followed by an asterisk into the program search box. (eg, bio*). On the results page, look for the desired program name in the results list, and click on the program name to repeat the search for the exact program name.

Other alternatives are to perform a "program element code" search, or for NSF-wide programs (such as CAREER), a "program reference code" search.
How many results get exported?
Up to 1,000 results will be exported, depending on the search criteria and number of awards found.
Why do you use cookies?
This application uses session cookies to "remember" search values as individual users navigate between the various search tabs. The session variables are used only for the duration of the individual session and only for navigation within the application. No personally identifiable information is collected, and no information is retained by NSF after the session is complete. All information will be handled in accordance with the NSF Privacy Policy
What browsers do you support?
Internet Explorer versions 5 and above, Netscape versions 6 and above, and Mozilla versions 1.6 and above.
Do I need javascript enabled in my web browser to use the award search?
Javascript is recommended but not required. The award search will still work without javascript enabled.
I'm not getting the results I expected.
Please use the comment form to give us much detail as you can about the search you are performing. If you provide your email address, we will try to resolve the problem for you.
