+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Subject: A Diabetes Town Hall Meeting - June 18, 2004 - Little Rock, AR Diabetes Detection and Education: Steps to a HealthierUS Town Hall Meeting The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is sponsoring a Town Hall meeting to highlight the important steps that individuals, health care practitioners and providers, businesses, and communities are taking to detect diabetes and educate patients, their families, and other Americans. DHHS will be gathering input from members of the community that can be used in developing a National Diabetes Action Plan (NDAP). Introductory remarks will provide the background information on the latest diabetes detection and education activities at DHHS, in Arkansas, and across the country. Following these remarks, there will be an open forum with panelists. Members of the community are encouraged to participate in the open forum.
