Awards will be provided to large city/urban communities, state-coordinated small city/rural communities, and tribal consortiums. These awards will be made through a competitive Request for Application (RFA) process. PA 04234, Steps to a HealthierUS: A Community-Focused Initiative to Reduce the Burden of Asthma, Diabetes, and Obesity, has been published in the Federal Register, Friday May 7, 2004, Vol 69, No 89, pages 25802-25816. It can be accessed on the Internet at: http://www.healthierus.gov/steps/fundingupdate.html An interactive Internet Webcast discussion of the RFA will be occur on May 19, from 1 to 3 pm Eastern Time.
