President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate
Martin J. Silverstein to be Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Oriental
Republic of Uruguay.
"Martin Silverstein is a leader in his community who has broad
understanding of foreign policy. His experience and
dedication will serve him well as Ambassador to Uruguay," said
President Bush.
Silverstein is presently an Attorney in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,
where he leads the firm, Martin J. Silverstein and
Associates. He is a member of numerous community and civic
Boards including the Board of Directors of the World Affairs Council of
Philadelphia, the Board of Governors of the Middle East Forum/Middle
East Quarterly and the Board of Trustees of the Federation of Jewish
Agencies of Greater Philadelphia. He is a graduate of
Rutgers University and Temple Law School.
