The
Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Awards Program has helped “catapult
environmental protection to a new level by designing and creating manufacturing

WANTED:
INNOVATIVE GREEN CHEMISTRY
TECHNOLOGIES DESERVING
NATIONAL RECOGNITION
The information you need to nominate your
green chemistry technology for a 2005 Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge
Award is now
available. The nomination deadline is December 31, 2004.
Since last year, we have clarified our instructions
to make the nomination process more straightforward. Nominations are limited
to eight pages–please review the nomination
package (153 KB, PDF) as you prepare your nomination. Our Web site has summaries
of previous winning
technologies that might be helpful. You might also want to read the
cover story on this year’s winners in the July 12, 2004 issue of
Chemical & Engineering News.
If you submitted a nomination for the competition
in the past, you may resubmit your technology as long as it is still
within five years of a significant milestone. Revising your nomination
to include more information can improve its chance of winning. Resubmitted
or revised nominations are as likely to win as new nominations.
If you have questions about the nomination
process or presenting your technology in the most effective way, please
contact Richard Engler at 202-564-8740 or engler.richard@epa.gov.
We look forward to receiving your nomination.
Remember: We cannot recognize your technology if you do not tell us about
it!
"The
time for green chemistry and engineering is here. It is the 21st Century
approach to manufacturing."

Theodore Kassinger, General Counsel and Designee Deputy Secretary of
Commerce
