  PDF problems

If you are experiencing difficulties viewing any PDF documents, please read the following suggestions:

First, make sure you have a program which will read PDF documents, such as Acrobat Reader.  Upgrade to Reader 5.0.  Also, you might want to update your browser (i.e. Internet Explorer, Netscape, etc.) to the most recent version.

For Internet Explorer/AOL users:

Try right-clicking on the link to the report.  (If your mouse only has one button, press Ctrl and click simultaneously.)  A menu should pop up, with an option to "save target as".   Click on "save target as".  A save window should pop up, and then you should choose where on your computer you'd like the file to be downloaded (e.g. to your desktop).  Click "save", and then try opening the file from where you saved it on your computer.

OR

Try using a Netscape browser to view the file.  To download Netscape, go to www.netscape.com.  If you are already using Netscape and you are having difficulties, try right-clicking (or if your mouse only has one button, press Ctrl and click simultaneously) on the link to the report.  On the pop-up menu, click on "save link as" to save the file on your computer then try opening it up from there.

OR

Go to the Adobe Acrobat support website and use the "Support Knowledgebase" to get instructions regarding how to configure your browser so that it will view PDF files.

OR

Request a hard copy of the report by contacting Dr. Michael Shelby, CERHR Director (NIEHS, 79 T.W. Alexander Drive, Building 4401, Room 103, P.O. Box 12233, MD EC-32, Research Triangle Park, NC 27709, Phone: (919) 541-3455; Fax: (919)316-4511; shelby@niehs.nih.gov).
