Graduate Training Program

The National Physical Science Consortium (NPSC)

 GRADUATE TRAINING PROGRAM 

NSA's Graduate Training Program is a one-of-a-kind employment opportunity through which you can earn a Master's degree in such areas as Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Information Operations.

Application Deadline
Applications are accepted before December 15th of each year.

About the Program
As a full-time employee of NSA, you will have the opportunity to begin your Agency career by attending graduate school at either the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, or the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.

  • Paid tuition, books, and training fees
  • Opportunity to earn a full-time salary while pursuing a Master's degree at a respected military-sponsored educational institution. (Both programs are Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited and designated as Information Assurance Centers of Excellence.)

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be a college senior or recent graduate
  • Must have majored (or be majoring) in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Operations
  • Must have a minimum 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
  • Must be willing to relocate to Monterey, California, or Dayton, Ohio, to attend graduate school (preferences may be stated but are not guaranteed). Upon completion of Master's program, you will be assigned to a permanent, full-time position at NSA headquarters in Ft. George G. Meade, Maryland.
  • Must maintain good academic standing and adhere to applicable NSA policies and procedures, including random employee drug testing, in accordance with E.O. 12564
  • Must agree to work for NSA for a minimum of three times the length of paid schooling
  • Students selected to attend the AFIT must provide Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores
