FAQ
DOCLINE -- No Volumes or Years Listed for My Library

Question: Why are there no Volumes or Years listed for some of my library's holdings?
Answer:

DOCLINE Serial Holdings records volume and year data for permanently retained holdings that have an Encoding Level of 3. If the holdings are limited retention, the latest number of units held and the type of units held will display. Holdings with an Encoding Level of 2 do not have volumes or years. All Level X records in the old mainframe-based system were converted as Level 2. You may upgrade Level 2 holdings to Level 3 by adding volume and/or year information.
