FAQ
Medical Images, Photographs and Videos
Question: Where can I find medical videos, photographs, slides, or images?
Answer:
- - NLM does not have a "photo library" that serves as a point of distribution for medical photographs and images
- - Stock shot libraries carry both photographs and footage. This list of medical stock images and footage is updated periodically, and can be found at at http://www.nlm.nih.gov/services/stockshot.html
-
- NLM's audiovisual collection contains approximately 30,000 items:
- - NLM's History of Medicine Division (HMD) provides nearly 60,000 images from its collection via its Images from the History of Medicine database; available at http://wwwihm.nlm.nih.gov/
- - NLM's Visible Human Project (VHP) can provide three-dimensional representations of the human body. Find out more about the VHP at http://www.nlm.nih.gov/pubs/factsheets/visible_human.html
