Border Crossing/Entry Data

The Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) provides incoming monthly border crossing/entry data for vehicles, containers, passengers and pedestrians.  The data represents activity at the port level on the United States (U.S.)-Canadian and U.S.-Mexican borders.  The data is provided to BTS by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security - Customs and Border Protection and is available since 1994.

BTS updates the data each month.  To receive monthly data in Excel, contact BTS Information Services at answers@bts.gov or 800-853-1351.

For other U.S.-Mexican border crossing data, visit the Texas Center for Border Economic and Enterprise Development, which collects northbound and southbound crossing data from bridge operators and the Mexican government. Additionally, incoming border wait times at the port facility level are available from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security - Customs and Border Protection.
