Objective:
Project includes three objectives: a. Complete a soil-vegetation correlation using the vegetation map. b. Continue evaluation of biological control agents on African rue in Lake Holloman wetlands area. c. Develop an appropriate database for the long-term monitoring project.

Approach:
We will characterize the soil profile at selected locations representative of dominant plant communities and at ecotones between communities. Soil characterization will be completed following standard NRCS protocols and in cooperation with NRCS personnel. A guide will be written and reviewed by Jornada Experimental Range and Holloman AFB personnel. Database development will follow Monitoring Manual structure.
